Robert L. “Bob” Spath, 81 of Fort Wayne and previously of Huntington passed away at 2:06 am on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Summit City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Bob was a 1953 graduate of Huntington High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served from 1953 – 1956. He was a “Body Man” for over 40 years working at Carnes Body Shop in Huntington, Hefner Chevrolet in Fort Wayne and his own business in Fort Wayne specializing in Corvettes, retiring in 2000. He loved cars, gardening, model airplanes and anything fast!

Bob was born on June 29, 1934 in Huntington, the son of Roscoe and Irene (Alschwede) Spath.

Survivors include: two daughters: Sabrina (Jose) Rios of Middlebury, IN; Melissa (Paul) Miller of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana with military honors to follow at 7:00 pm.

Memorial donations can be made out to Alzheimer’s Association in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
