Muriel L. (Holland) Munsell, 81, Marion, received her eternal reward at 2:56 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, while living at Colonial Oaks Health Care and Rehab, Marion.

Muriel was born in Peach Orchard, Arkansas, to the late Erman and Vera (Tarpley) Holland. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1953 and married Rev. Truman B. Munsell. She was a woman after God’s own heart and lived her life faithfully serving Him and others. In addition to being a pastor’s wife in The Wesleyan Church, her service in the church included being actively involved in the Women’s Missionary Society and serving over 30 years in children’s ministries.

Mostly a homemaker throughout her life, Muriel did, however, work at various department stores as well as Kresge Dimestore and AC Sparkplug Plant. Also noteworthy is how wonderful a piemaker she was and her great homemade pie crust. Muriel also enjoyed photography, especially pictures of family.

She will be missed by her children, Stanley Munsell, Sweetser, Patrick Munsell, Kansas City, Missouri, Gerald (Deanna) Munsell, Kokomo, Marcella “Marcy” Munsell, Tipton, Dale (Lori) Munsell, Lawrenceville, Illinois, Wesley (Susanna) Munsell, Lagonave, Haiti, West Indies, and Bethany Alvord, Converse; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Bonnie Holland; brothers-in-law, Eugene, Jerry, and Gary; sister-in-law, Barbara; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents and loving husband of 54 years, Rev. Truman, she was preceded in death by several siblings and her step-mother, Ophia Holland.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

A celebration of life service is at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the funeral home with Revs. Ron Forsythe and Matt Stewart officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017, at Marion National Cemetery.
