Mary Ellen Stetzel, 68, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Bluffton, Mary loved spending time with her eight wonderful grandchildren; Emma and Calvin Bailey; Mason, Chase and Parker Satterthwaite; Tucker and Haidee Stetzel; Madelyn Stetzel.

Mary graduated from Huntington North High School in 1967. She held multiple positions in the work force, but was always heavily involved in the day-to-day operations on the Stetzel Farm located in Warren, Indiana.

A full-time mom, Mary never missed an athletic event or practice for one of her five children. She loved spending time with her family; hosting birthday parties, Thanksgiving dinners, and Christmas morning gatherings.

Mary never slowed down after a 20-year battle with cancer. She took multiple vacations with her friends, visiting the likes of St. Croix in the Virgin Islands, Placencia in Belize and the Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

Back at home, Mary loved to be a great host. She would welcome her guests with smiles, hugs and great food. Sunday’s were spent on the couch where the Stetzel Family would be watching the Raiders. Years of watching football with her loved ones would lead Mary to winning her family’s fantasy football league, an accomplishment that made her quite proud.

An outgoing personality, Mary attended the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 in 2016. The year prior, she spent her Fourth of July at the IMS listening to one of her favorite bands; The Rolling Stones.

Surviving is her mother Eva Mae Minnich; husband Mike Stetzel; sister Julia (Dick) Stegmaier. She had three sons and two daughters; Bill (Mandy) Stetzel, Shon (Danielle) Stetzel, Tina (Matt) Bailey, Tiffany (Rod) Satterthwaite and Kit (Kelly) Stetzel. Mary was preceded in death by her father Howard Minnich.

Service is set for 11 AM Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Glancy H. Brown & Son Funeral Home (203 N. Matilda Street, Warren, IN). Calling at Glancy H. Brown & Son Funeral Home on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 2 PM to 8 PM and again Saturday June 10 at 10 AM.
