Mark J. Mason, 60, of Huntington, died on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his home.
He was born on April 7, 1957, in Huntington County to Harold and Genevieve (Fries) Mason. He married Kathy Eichenauer on Saturday, August 6, 1983 in Huntington and she survives.
Mr. Mason was a 1975 graduate of Huntington North High School. He attended Purdue University. He was a member of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He owned and operated Mason Family Dairy Farm for 12 years. He was the president of the Huntington County Dairy Herd and Improvement Association for 6 years. He founded the starter calf project for Huntington County 4-H organization and was the superintendent for 15 years. He served on the Huntington County Cooperative board for 10 years and the North Central Cooperative board for 5 years. In 2002, he hosted the National Corn Husking Contest. He was also a member of Kids Campus advisory committee.
Other survivors include a daughter, Bethany and son, Andrew, both of Huntington; four brothers and four sisters; John (Deborah) Mason, Maria (Thomas) Lund, Coletta (Anthony) Payne, Gerard (Ann) Mason, Regina Stahl, Eric (Laura) Mason, Angela (Paul) Lineback and Damian (Lori) Mason.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gabriel Joseph.
