Linda MacKenzie, 79, ofIndianapolis, IN, formerly of Van Buren, IN, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 2016 at her home in Indianapolis. She was born on Tuesday, December 01, 1936, in Marion, IN to Earl & Lucile (Duckwall) Coleman. She married Philip MacKenzie on Saturday, November 17, 1962 in the Van Buren United Methodist Church. Linda worked at RCA in Marion for several years until she started her family. After her three children were born she became a homemaker. She loved playing softball and was the catcher for the Marion Queens. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, canning and playing euchre.
Loving survivors include: Daughters – Lucinda (Jeremy) Flakus, Sioux Falls, SD, Amber (Mark)Underwood, Indianapolis, IN, Son – Sam (Chantelle) MacKenzie, El Paso, TX, Grandchildren – Priscilla Angelyne Underwood, Indianapolis, IN, Alexander Philip MacKenzie, El Paso, TX, Madeline Christine MacKenzie, El Paso, TX, Connor Joseph MacKenzie, El Paso, TX and Sister – Marilyn Coleman Smith, Plattsburgh, NY.
She was preceded in death by her: Father – Earl Coleman, Mother – Lucile (Duckwall) Coleman, Husband – Philip MacKenzie and Twin Sister – Joann Doyle.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home 201 N Main Street Van Buren on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A service to celebrate Linda’s life will follow at 2:00 PM with Mark Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren.
