Kayla Aleen Slocum, 23, of Huntington, Indiana, died at 8:33 pm, Monday, November 20, 2017 at her home. She was born January 7, 1994 in Layton, Utah to Ricky Avery Ryckman and Heidi Lynn (Pauley) Burkhart.
Kayla attended Warsaw Community High School. She married Jacob Sean Slocum in Columbia City, Indiana on March 13, 2012. She enjoyed wolves, hiking, bicycling, bowling, the Christmas season and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob Sean Slocum of Huntington, mother and step father, Heidi Lynn & Jens “Bud” Burkhart of North Manchester, two sisters and a brother, Amanda (Bruce) Nordahl of Lakeside, California, Megan Burkhart of North Manchester, and Ricky S.A. (Alexis) Ryckman of Nashville, Tennessee, grandparents, Gisela Zashka of Los Angeles, California, Dorothy & Dan Lake of Columbiaville, Michigan, and James Grotovsky of El Cajon, California. She was preceded in death by her father, Ricky Avery Ryckman.
Friends may call 3:30-5 pm Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main Street, North Manchester, IN 46962. There will be a family reception 5-8pm Wednesday at the Town Life Center Gymnasium, 603 Bond Street, North Manchester.
