Joyce was born on February 9, 1937 in Muncie, the daughter of John H. and Eva Madonna (King) Smart.
She was united in marriage to William M. Mongold, Jr. on May 12, 1956 in Muncie. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2012.
Survivors include two sons: William M. Mongold III of Huntington; Mark A. (Angela Schaper) Mongold of Roanoke; a brother: John H. Smart of Albany, IN; three grandchildren: William M. Mongold IV, Louis Michael Mongold and Julie E. Mongold and a great grandson: Michael Andrew Allegre.
She was preceded in death by four sisters: Donna J. Sword, Jane E. Smith, Mary L. Smart, Janet E. Dalton, and two brothers: Gary W. Smart and Michael D. Smart.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Wally Morris officiating.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
