Joe L. Parsons, 62, Lafayette, died at 7:12 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016, at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette. He was born in Elwood, Indiana, to the late Manuel Robert “Bob” and Pauline Grace (Lee) Parsons. Joe married Kendra Diane on January 1, 2001, and she survives.
Joe was a graduate of Wendell Wilkie High School and was an associate with Subaru of Indiana Automotive for 26 years, where he worked at the time of his death.
Joe was one of the most caring individuals in the world. He loved his wife, whom he met while dancing at “The Dance”, which was where they were married one year later. He also cared deeply about his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved being outdoors and working in the yard, and he enjoyed food more than anyone.
In addition to his wife of 15 years, Joe is survived by his sons, Joe (Jennifer) Parsons, Greg (Leanne) Parsons, Kevin (Laura) Parsons, and Kyle Parsons; step-children, Jason (Jamie) Brooks and Jodi (Joe) Brooks; step-mother, Linda Parsons; brother, Bobby (Debbie) Parsons; and 9 grandchildren, Claire, Juniper, Selkie, Ella, Paige, Evan, Conner, Peyton, and Jordan.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN. Services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Stout officiating.
