Jerry L. Zoda, 76, of Jackson Twp., Wells County, IN, passed away at 4:47 PM on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Marion General Hospital in Marion, IN. He was born on Saturday, October 26, 1940, in Marion, IN. He married Mary Jo Rupley on Saturday, August 4, 1962 in Dillman Church. Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked several years at General Cable in Marion. He served in the Army National Guard from 1961-1964, in the specialist 5th class. He was a Jackson Twp. farmer all his life. Jerry was a member of the Antique Tuggers, Black Creek Conservation Club and Wells Co. 4-H.
Survivors include: Wife – Mary Jo Zoda, Dillman, IN, Son – Joseph W. (Maryna) Zoda, Columbia City, IN, Son – Jack E. (Nicki) Zoda, Warren, IN, Daughter-Judith A. (Mike) Ripperger, Liberty Center, IN, Son – John M. (Dawn Thomas) Zoda, Dillman, IN, 9 Grandchildren: Jake, Andy, Alex, Quaid, Aleigha, Blake, Brooke, Knute and Caroline, Brother – Tim (Pam) Zoda, Richmond, IN, Sister – Cathy (Michael) Wright, Dillman, IN and Sister-in-law – Mary Zoda, Warren, IN.
He was preceded in death by his: Father – Marvin “Bud” J. Zoda, Mother – Wilma L. Thompson Zoda and Brother – Richard Zoda.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home 201 N Main Street Van Buren on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 6, 2017; viewing will be held one hour before. Family friend Fred Schweikhardt will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren.
