Jeanette Eilene Beck, 83, Marion, passed away in her home at 10:31 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017. She was born in Roll, Indiana, on December 4, 1933, to the late Alfred and Edith (Jackson) Bowen.
Jeanette lived most of her life in the Marion area, and previously lived in Swayzee from 1957-1974. She attended cosmetology school following her high school graduation and became a beautician. She stayed in this profession until her retirement. Jeanette was a member of the Marion Hairdressers Association, St. Paul Catholic Church, and the Rosary Society.
Jeanette enjoyed attending activities at the Marion Senior Center and Miller’s Merry Manor. She especially loved spending time with her family and her special friend, and she planned and hosted many family get-togethers over the years.
She is survived by her children, Thomas A. Beck, Columbus, Indiana, David D. Beck, Indianapolis, Joseph A. (Laura) Beck, Sweetser, Loretta J. (Richard) Neufelder, Fortville, Mark D. (Kathy) Beck, Kerrville, Texas, and Jennifer A. (Darrin) Cunningham, Muncie; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Jim Husted.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Verdene J. Bowen; and sister, Phyllis Bowen.
The family will receive visitors from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 Kem Rd., Marion, IN, with Father Weisenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
