Gerri L. Longanecker, 70, North Manchester, IN died at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born July 31, 1946 in Huntington, IN to Carl Sr. & Mary (Reeves) Herndon. She graduated from Indianapolis North Central High School in 1965 and later from Manchester College in 1992, earning an Associates Degree in Office Administration. She was a fashion model in high school. Gerri was a member of First Brethren Church, North Manchester, IN and active in Brethren Way of Christ for many years. She was a receptionist/secretary at North Central Co-op. On September 10, 1966 she married David F. Longanecker. He died May 9, 2014. She is survived by two sons, J.D. (Jo Music) Longanecker, North Manchester, IN and Jacob A. (Sarah) Longanecker, North Manchester, IN; one daughter, Krishna D. (Jeff Ferranti) Longanecker, Springfield, MA; brother, Carl Herndon Jr., Louisiana; sisters, Carolyn (Gene) Green, Indianapolis, IN and Sylvia Jackson, Louisiana; grandchildren, Andrew J. Longanecker, Ashlyn L.Longanecker, Carter A. Ferranti, Alexander D. Ferranti, Landon D. Longanecker and Ethan M. Longanecker. One brother, Mike Herndon, and four grandchildren are deceased. Family and friends may call Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with calling one hour prior to service at First Brethren Church, 407 N. Sycamore Street, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Kurt Stout will officiate.
