Evelyn “Nora Lea” Percy, 81, Marion, died at Miller’s Merry Manor at 5:25 a.m. on May 1, 2017. She was born in Nickelsville, Virginia, to Teddy and Cornie (Campbell) Powers. Nora Lea married Warren E. Percy on September 28, 1968, and they shared 45 years together until he passed away on April 18, 2014.

Nora Lea was a homemaker who loved her family and grandchildren, and she loved taking care of other children as well. Her favorite hobbies included knitting, sewing, and working puzzles.

She is survived by her children, Lyvonne Nightenhelser, Warren, Justin (Kathy) Burke, Gas City, Randy Burke, Wabash, Sandy (Kim) Burke, Converse, and Sheila (Dan) O’Keefe, St. Louis, Missouri; siblings, Clarice (John) Puckett, Dungannon, Henry (Pat) Powers, Nickelsville, and Darrell (Jeanette) Powers, Dungannon; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nora Lea was preceded in death by her sons, Danny Percy and Eddie Percy; granddaughter, Mary Ann Percy; siblings, Hettie Jane Stapleton, Creed Powers, Robert Powers, Kenneth Powers, Clifford Powers; and a baby sister, Doris Powers.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Services to celebrate Nora Lea’s life will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Helm officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
