Donna Jean Droscha (71) left for her true and eternal home on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
Ron, her husband of 48 years, and their legacy…children Diana (Matt) Yoo, Laurie (Eric) Smoldt, Andrea (Matt) Hayden and Scott (Tammy) Droscha and 13 grandchildren (Jarrod, Justin, Jason, Zane, Carolyn, Hannah, Gabriel, Garrett, Evelyn, Trevor, Grant, Wesley and Zachary)…live on and rejoice that one day they will greet her again in Heaven.
Donna was born in Detroit, Michigan, on April 24, 1946, to Fred and Agnes Grissom. On June 21, 1969, she married Ron Droscha. The family moved to Peru, Indiana, in 1980.
First and foremost, Donna loved the Lord. Second only to that, Donna’s greatest joy was her family and she took special delight in her grandchildren. Donna was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church. She was also a nurse in the community, first at Miller’s Merry Manor then for many years at Dukes Memorial Hospital. Her generous heart and willingness to serve will always be remembered.
Donna is also survived by her brothers-of-the-heart, Peter (Kim) Taylor and David Taylor, as well as a large and loving extended family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Phyllis Grissom, and grandson Connor Droscha.
Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church, 53 East Main Street, Peru, IN, on Wednesday, September 13, from 4pm-6pm. The service will follow at 6pm. With Pastor: Bob Adelsperger Officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Aurelius Township, MI, on Thursday, September 14, at noon. Memorial contributions may be made in Donna’s memory to the First Baptist Church, Peru.
