Daniel David Hathaway, 74, Marion, died at 8:38 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016. He was born in Conneaut, Ohio, to the late Daniel and Mabel (Rohrer) Hathaway, Sr. He married Helen Whitfield on June 8, 1963, and she survives.
Daniel was a graduate of Central Bible College. He worked as a ticket agent for Eastern Airlines and SATO for many years until his retirement. He did custodial work for Eastbrook Community Schools following retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, photography, and woodcarving.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Helen Whitfield, Marion; daughter, Dana Alford, Upland; son, Bob (Sherry) Hathaway, Newburg, Missouri; two grandchildren, Kenny and Kristopher Alford; and a sister, Carol (Steve) Jakab, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no services.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City.
The family strongly urges that donations in Daniel’s name be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
