Christopher “Chris” M. Stevens, 26, passed away at Marion General Hospital at 5:41 a.m. due to heart complications on Monday, February 27, 2017. He was born in Marion to Tim and Denise (Mansbarger) Stevens.
Chris graduated from Mississinewa High School in 2008. He loved to cook and worked as a chef at his aunt’s restaurant in Gas City—Jackie’s Restaurant. He attended Church of God of Prophecy in Gas City and enjoyed playing video games.
Survivors include his parents, Tim (Denise) Stevens, Jonesboro; brothers, Andrew (Melissa) Stevens, Ohio, and Ben Stevens, Jonesboro; grandparents, Helen Stevens, Gas City, and Paul (Ruth) Mansbarger, Gas City; uncles and aunts, Doug (Carla) Stevens, Upland, Jackie (Merle) Ingle, Gas City, Martha (Don) Gibson, Gas City, Paul (Jill) Mansbarger, Alexandria, and Donna (Terry) Beaty, Jonesboro; niece, Allyson Stevens, Ohio; several cousins; and his special dog, Duke.
His sister, Cassondra Stevens, and his grandfather, Alfred Stevens, preceded him in death.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Church of God of Prophecy, 906 N. 10th St., Gas City. Services will begin at 4 p.m. with Pastor David Morris officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN.
