Cecilia Rose Smith, 58, Marion, passed away in Marion General Hospital at 4:57 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. Born in Marion to Thomas and Irma (Marshall) Mullenix, Sr., Cecilia was a lifelong resident of Marion.
Cecilia attended Marion College and was a graduate of Wright’s Beauty School. She worked at Master Cuts in Marion earlier in her career until she became disabled. Cecilia loved life and enjoyed being with people. She had a great sense of humor and also enjoyed crocheting, bowling, playing Euchre (which she was very good at), and watching scary movies.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Robert Brannon) Maldonado, Wabash; son, Matthew Boen, Gas City; grandchildren, Hector Maldonado, III, Glave Boen, and Ivy Boen; siblings, Richard (Karen) Mullenix, Fowlerton, Marilyn Huston, Upland, Thomas “Bob” Mullenix, Marion, and Martel (Javier) Marin, Marion; and several nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Stephanie Boen; granddaughter, Vidalia Maldonado; sister, Thomasena Wyninger; and brother-in-law, Allen Huston.
The family will honor Cecilia’s life at a memorial service held a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Cecilia desired to help save other lives and, therefore, was an organ donor.
