Catherine E. Simons, 74, Marion, died in Lutheran Hospital at 10:32 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was born in Marion to J. Wilbur and Catharine (Briner) Rusby. She married Larry Simons on December 15, 1965, and he survives.
Catherine was an administrative assistant with General Tire. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and she enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry; daughters, Leanne (John) McCormick, Indianapolis, Lara (Curtis) Lawrence, Greencastle, and Sara Simons, Marion; grandchildren, Ian McCormick, Stuart McCormick, Madelyn Lawrence, and Reid Lawrence; siblings, Suzanne (Ben) Bier, California, Sally Rusby, Marion, Robert Rusby, California, Rick (Marsha) Rusby, California, Margaret (Dennis) Gentry, Marion, and Anne (Raymond) Ortiz, California; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Rusby.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Catherine’s funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating.
