Barbara L. Armes, 71 of Jonesboro, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital.

Barb was born on April 22, 1945 in Ashland, Kentucky, one of 10 children born to the late Bert and Flora (Hamilton) Ferguson.   Barb and Elrie L. Armes were married on July 25, 1975 in Gas City.   Barb worked at Strauss Sewing Company in Ashland, Kentucky as a teenager.  After moving to Indiana she worked in corrugated at Owens-Illinois and was most recently owner/hair stylist of Hair and Sun in Marion.    Barb was an active member of Westview Wesleyan Church where she served as a communion steward and on the funeral dinner committee.   She and Elrie had been a member of Smile Seekers Clown Ministry where Barb was known as “Nosey Rosie”.  She was also a member and past president of the Marie Webster Quilters Hall of Fame.  Besides being an expert quilter Barb loved to cook, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Barb is survived by her husband Elrie,of 41 years two daughters; Melissa (Dennis) Sample, Jonesboro, IN and Angie (Bryan) McDaniel, Fairmount, five grandchildren;  Paxton and Ethan Sample and Emily and Cash Kemble and Anabella Pannell, brother, Jack Ferguson, Upland, and sister, Willadean Webb, Southpoint, Ohio and many nieces and nephews,

Barb was preceded in death by brothers; Marvin and Emrey Ferguson and sisters, Anna Coscia, Carma Jean Redd, Mary Spicer, Joy Waters and Berniece Ferguson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where visitation will be on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 2-8 PM and 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the church.  Funeral service celebrating Barb’s life will be on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11 AM at Westview Wesleyan Church, 1300 W. 6th Street, Jonesboro with Rev Ryan Budde and Steve Armes officiating.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Gas City, IN

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marie Webster Quilters Hall of Fame or Gilead Ministries in care of the funeral home.
