Willis “Lee” Fairchild, 64, of rural LaFontaine, Indiana, died at 2:20 pm, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at his home. He was born January 11, 1954 in Johnson County, Kentucky to Willis “Roby” and Arlene (Murray) Fairchild.
Lee married Ruby J. Little in Paintsville, Kentucky on July 9, 1971. He was a mechanic nearly all of his life, working in several different shops, including his own. He spent all his time working in his shop tinkering around on anything he could find. He also enjoyed his dogs and especially loved his family. Lee would do anything to help, and enjoyed making people smile.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby J. Fairchild of LaFontaine; four children, Wesley Fairchild, James Fairchild and Michelle Shelton, all of LaFontaine, and Sherry Fairchild of Peru, Indiana; 18 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Paula Sloat of Rochester, Indiana, Sheila Honeycutt of Akron, Indiana, Michael Sadler and Phillip Sadler, both of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Selima Rose.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, March 23, 2018 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Ralph Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery, Roann. Friends may call 9:30 – 11:00 am Friday, at the funeral home.
