William E. “Bill” Wilson, 80, passed away Monday morning, April 16, 2018, in his residence, with family by his side. He was born in Muncie, the son of the late Paul and Fern (Wright) Wilson.
Bill married the love of his life, Bonnie Glass, on September 3, 1955 at Epworth United Methodist Church, Matthews.
He was employed with Delco Battery, Muncie, as an Inspector for 19 years before his retirement in 1973.
Bill was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, Matthews, the Order of the Eastern Star, Matthews, and a 50 year member of the Matthews Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed mowing his and son, Allen’s yards, helping on the farm with his son, Ron, and helping at the church. He loved attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s various sporting events and school functions.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Bonnie; two sons, Allen (Myra) Wilson, Matthews, and Ron (Nancy) Wilson, Jonesboro; seven grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Wilson-Skaggs and a foster brother, Ray Stanley.

Visitation will be from 4:30-7:30 pm, Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Jones-Smith Chapel, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana and an hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, April 20, 2018, at Epworth United Methodist Church, Matthews, 105 W. Eighth St., Matthews, Indiana. Burial will follow in Matthews Cemetery, Matthews.
