Wesley G. Leedy

Wesley G. Leedy, 85, of Macy, Indiana passed away at 9:50am on Monday, June 18, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Miami County on November 1, 1932 to Joseph and Ellen (Cunningham) Leedy.  A lifetime resident of Miami County, Wes served in the United States Army, retired from Square D Company in Peru, and was a retired farmer.  He was a member of the Deedsville United Methodist Church, as well as the Peru Moose and the VFW Lodge.  Wes was also an avid fisherman, and enjoyed making maple syrup and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his companion Jeanette Yentes, as well as his son Chris Leedy (wife Linda) of Macy, and daughter Jolene Musselman of Hartford City, son Jason Yentes (wife Stephanie) of Peru, and daughter Jamie Moore (husband Collin) of Peru.  Also, grandkids Michelle See (Aaron), Aaron Leedy, Kinsie Fisher (Craig), Holly Musselman (Ben Weller), Kelsey Zimmerman, and Noah Yentes; and great-grandkids Emery See, Evie See, and Eiley See (all of Macy) and Graham Fisher and Seth Fisher (both of Columbus).  Also surviving are brothers Tom Leedy (wife Beth Anne) of Peru, and Stan Leedy (companion Karma) of Plymouth; and sisters Jane Deeds (husband Bob Sonne) of Deedsville, Rose Marek (husband Frank) of Peru, Sue Nutt of Mexico, and Sara Stokes (husband Chuck) of Kalispell, MT.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Roger, Jerry and Steve; and sisters Ardis, and Mary Ann Shinn.

Visitation will be held from 2pm to 7pm on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Babb officiating.  Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico, Indiana, with military service provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Deedsville United Methodist Church and Riley Children’s Hospital through the funeral home.
