Wanetta M. “Granny” Snyder

Wanetta M. “Granny” Snyder, 96, Gas City, passed away at Marion General Hospital at 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.  She was born in Warren on January 24, 1922, to the late Emery C. and Jennie M. (Trimmer) Cloud.

Wanetta retired from Glass Containers, where she was an inspector for 30 years.  She was a member of the VFW 6728 for 59 years, American Legion Post 95, and she enjoyed Bingo and the casinos.  She also loved cooking and spending time with family.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennie (Bill) Everman, Gas City; grandchildren, Max (Amber) Warren, John (Jimmy) Hewitt, Cheryl (Bob) Devine, Ronnie Hewitt, Dorrece (Mike) Troyer, Steve (Danielle) Hewitt, J.B. White, and Darlene White; 12 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death was her pet dog of 19 years, Romeo; her children, Donna Tyler, Ronnie Slater, and Linda White; granddaughter, Teresa; and siblings, George (Beatrice) Cloud, J.W. (Kathleen) Cloud, Bernice (Fred) Craft, Bessie (Arthur) Foster, and Wynona (Ralph) Ewing.

Visitation for Wanetta will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Wanetta’s life will begin at 6 p.m. with Cheryl Devine officiating.  The family will have a private burial at a later date.
