Waneta Hyman

Waneta Hyman 86, Converse, went to be with the Lord at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Marion Rehab and Assisted Living Center.  She was born in Bright, Indiana, on May 24, 1932, to the late Harold and Helen (Kling) Mendell.

Waneta retired from Swayzee Elementary School, where she taught for over 30 years and was actively involved with the after-school program in Converse.  She was a member of Converse UMC, where she loved serving the Lord and others.  Waneta collected dolls and angels, loved to shop, and she had the opportunity to travel to many places throughout her life, including Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska.

She is survived by her children, Micki (Harold) Hall, Roseburg, Oregon, Mike (Debbie) Hyman, Flora, and Mark (Sharalyn) Hyman, Converse; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Gates, Marysville, Tennessee, and identical twin sister, Wanda Lou Bricker, Converse; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Hoyt.

There will be a Celebration of Life reception at Converse United Methodist Church at a later date.
