Walter M. Turner, Sr.

Walter M. Turner, Sr., 70, Marion, passed away in his home at 8:23 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018.  He was born in Kokomo on July 9, 1948, to the late Raymond and Bonnie (Bell) Turner.

Walter was a U.S. Army veteran and, following his military service, was an electrician in the construction business.

He is survived by his children, Walter Turner, Jr., Marion, Joyce Ann Turner, Marion, and Rhonda Sue Turner, Marion; grandchildren, Christopher Turner, Joshua O’Donnell, David O’Donnell, Michael O’Donnell, Brook Turner, and Robert Ayala; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Georgia Ann Little, Tennessee, Nancy L. Riley, Tennessee, Michael L. Turner, Delphi, Ricky Ray Turner, Marion, Teresa May Toy, Sweetser, and John L. Turner, Cutler; and half-sister, Sue Perry Cutler.

Also preceding him in death were siblings, Dora Luella James, Raymond E. Turner, Luanna Lee Gibson, Nancy Rose, and Robert Cummings.

Visitation for Walter will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, July 30, 2018, at VA Protestant Chapel, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN.

Immediately following visitation, Walter’s funeral service will begin at 12 noon with Pastor Randy Thornburg officiating.  Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery.
