Regina K. Carter, 53, Marion, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She was born on July 5, 1965, to Charles R. and Donna D. (Bowman) Barkdull, Sr., in Marion.
Regina was a lifelong resident of Marion. She worked at Chambers Property Management, where she was a custodian. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by them.
She is survived by her loving husband, David W. Carter; mother-in-law, Glenna K. Carter; sons, David W. (Angelia) Hayes, Richard A. Hayes, and Keith W. Hayes; daughters, Venita M. (Brett) Hayes, Jessica A. Carter, Jennifer L. (Todd) Kremerer, and Jamie L. Carter; many grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Barkdull and Marlene (Michael) Waymire; brother, John W. Barkdull; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles R. and Donna Barkdull, Sr.; father-in-law, Paul Carter; twin sister, Clymenie Mae Barkdull; sister, Rosetta M. Calhoun; brother, Charles Russell Barkdull, Jr.; and half-brother, Robert “Bobby” Barkdull.
The family will receive visitors from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service for Regina will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
