Wallace “Wally” Dingess

Wallace “Wally” Dingess, 68, Servia, Indiana passed away July 5, 2020 at 12:50 a.m. at his home. On January 28, 1952, Wally was born in Logan, West Virginia to Ray and Cora Lee (Dalton) Dingess. Wally married Bethel Shepherd on February 3, 1973. The two were married just shy of 35 years when Bethel passed away on January 24, 2008.

Wally was enthralled about classic cars. From working on them to admiring the beauty of them, Wally thought those were the best cars ever made. He also enjoyed collecting John Wayne memorabilia, vacationing to West Virginia, but most of all, he enjoyed his time with friends, family, and especially his grandchildren. Wally worked as a general laborer at many different companies including Rochester Foundry, Manchester Foundry, United Technologies, Dexter Axle, and Park-Kan Co.

The memory of Wallace “Wally” Dingess will be forever cherished by his son, Wallace Lee “Wally” (Melody) Dingess, Servia, Indiana; daughter, Kristy (Martin) Durden, North Manchester, Indiana; one brother, Oscar Dale (Kathy) Dingess; five sisters, Deloris J. Horne, North Manchester, Virgie M. (Jake) Shepherd, Servia, Carolyn R. (Randy) France, North Manchester, Mildred G. (Randy) Eckman, Lincolnville, Indiana, Pamela K. Craft, North Manchester; six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, Bobbie, Allen, and Jackie Dingess, and two sisters, Madeline Shanklin and Christean Calloway.

Family and friends may call Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with calling beginning one hour prior at McKee Mortuary. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate with burial being held at Fairview Cemetery, Servia, Indiana.

The State of Indiana recommends social distancing of six feet or more, hand washing or sanitizing, and the use of masks.
