Vivian “Jean” Thompson, 82, of rural Van Buren, IN, passed away at 6:09 AM on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.  She was born on Thursday, November 15, 1934, in Miami County, IN.  She married Howard Dale Thompson on Sunday, June 7, 1953 in Plummers Chapel Church in Huntington County; Howard passed away in 1997.  Jean was a 1952 graduate of Jefferson High School in Huntington County. She loved to cook, bake pies, play croquet, fishing, mushroom hunting and especially going to the Casino and playing video poker with her daughter. She worked from 1980-1998 at Huntington Tool and Die, Inc. the company her husband owned. Jean loved her family with all her heart.

Loving survivors include: Daughter – Jane Spears, Van Buren, IN, Son – Mark (Wife, Annette) Thompson, Warren, IN, 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, 2 Gr. Gr. Grandchildren and Brother – George (Wife, Linda) Ralston, Van Buren, IN.  She was preceded in death by her: Father – Thurman Ralston, Mother – Lois (Guyre) Ralston, Husband – Howard Dale Thompson, Son – Steve Thompson, Brothers – Thurman Ralston, Jr. and Harley “Ike” Ralston.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N Matilda St. Warren on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Services to celebrate Jean’s life follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ron Myers officiating.  Interment will take place in the Gardens of Memory in rural Marion.

Preferred memorials in honor of Jean may be made to Donor’s Favorite Charity. Memorials can be mailed to PO Box 366, Warren, IN 46792.
