Virginia “Ginny” Clutter

Virginia “Ginny” Clutter passed away on January 20, 2022 in San Antonio, TX where she had lived for several years.   

Ginny was born September 10, 1924 to the late Victor and Ida Anderson of Coon Valley, Wisconsin.   They moved to the Red River Valley, Minnesota, in the early 1930’s, where she later graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks, N.D.   She taught high school in Rolla, N.D. and Perham, MN.  

On June 18, 1947, she married Leonard M. Clutter, of Newark, Ohio.   In 1950, they moved to Marion, Indiana, where Len worked in Equipment Development at the newly established RCA plant, and Ginny worked briefly as a secretary to the manufacturing engineering group. 

She was a volunteer in the Marion Schools, as well as the Girl Scouts, where she served as a Brownie Troop Leader.   She served on the board of the Marion unit of the Indiana Symphony and was also a member of the AG Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, the Hostess House and a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years, where she was on the board of Deacons and taught Bible School.   Ginny enjoyed gardening, reading, travelling, and most importantly, her family.  

Her husband preceded her in death, but they leave four children, Laurie (Rich) Upson, San Antonio, TX,  Donald (Debi) Clutter, Sacramento, CA,  Karen Clutter, Geneva, IL, and Robert (Angie) Clutter, Lebanon, IN;  nine grandchildren,  Rachel (Stephen) Wright, San Antonio, TX,  Todd (Colleen) Upson, Boerne, TX,  Lindsay (Clayton) McCarl,  Norfolk, VA,  Whitney (Martin) Schellenberg, Moraga, CA,  Erin (Jack) Hutichison, Newcastle, CA,  Simona Clutter, Sacramento, CA, Blake (Taylor) Clutter, Muncie, IN, Davis Clutter, Indianapolis and Miles Clutter, Lebanon, IN;  plus 10 great-grandchildren.   

Arrangements are entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion Indiana.   Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in the funeral home.  Funeral Services will begin at Noon with burial to follow in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
