Violet Louise Mullin

Violet Louise Mullin, 89, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Rolling Meadows Healthcare in LaFontaine.  She was born in Fort Wayne on April 23, 1929, to Irvin and Josephine (Zebert) Smithley and married her loving husband, Melvin Earl Mullin, on June 22, 1952.  They shared 59 years together before he passed away on February 10, 2011.

Violet was a 1947 graduate of Marion High School and received her business degree from Indiana Business College.  She was a bookkeeper with JC Penney for 23 years and had also worked in the cafeteria at Marion High School.  Violet attended Healing Heart Church of God in Marion, and she was dedicated to her church family.

She is survived by her son, Brent Earl (Regina) Mullin, Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Phyllis Harpham, Marion; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billie, Jack, Jim, David, and Donald, as well as sisters, Joan and Rosemary.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Violet’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.  Pastor Wally Champion will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory.
