Verlie U. Hutchison, 94, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 4:01 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Marion Rehab and Assisted Living. She was born in Marion on December 23, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Merle Glen and Dottie (Craig) Craig.
Verlie was a graduate of Marion High School and was a lifelong resident of the area. On December 12, 1945, she married William V. Hutchison and faithfully served her family as a homemaker. She always enjoyed spending summers at the lake with the family. Verlie was actively involved in her church at Hillside Wesleyan and at Marion-Grant County Senior Center.
She will be missed by her son, Stephen C. Hutchison, Marion; daughter, Nancy L. (Brian) Maddox, Marion; grandchildren, Noelle (Mark) Schlechty, Petersburg, and Travis (Tammy) Maddox, Marion; and great-grandchildren, Jessy (Travis) Pearson-Cheney, Caleb (fiancée Olivia) Schlechty, Jenna Schlechty, Gabriel Maddox, Brilynn Maddox, and Haven Maddox.
Her husband, William, preceded her in death on January 8, 2008.
The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Services to celebrate Verlie’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Neal officiating. Final resting place will be at Estates of Serenity.
