Trudy Ann Abbott, 69, Marion, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. A lifelong resident of Marion, Trudy was born on February 17, 1949, to the late Robert Lee and Lucille June (McNeely) Embry. She married Robert E. Abbott, Jr., on November 15, 1969, and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2002.
Trudy was a homemaker throughout her life and faithfully served her husband and family. She always enjoyed family gatherings and looked forward to when she could meet up with her friends, the “Bucktown Babes”. She loved playing board games and card games with her grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Robert E. (Mary) Abbott, III, Converse, Lisa (Randy) Davis, Marion, and Annie (Brandon) Downam, Converse; grandchildren, Ron Baker, Laci Baker, Brittany Davis, Jazzlyn Davis, Sydney Abbott, Jillian Downam, Liberty Downam, and Emily Downam; great-grandchildren, Makalynn Wood, Keyan Baker, Khloe Dunica, and Rylan McQuart; sister, Tresa (Steve) Bolin, Midland, Texas; brother-in-law, Bill (Sharon) Abbott, Marion; nieces and nephews, Kira Bolin, Kyle Bolin, Melissa Cline, Stephanie Abbott, and Dean Abbott.
Also preceding her in death was her nephew, Matthew Neff, and in-laws, Robert E. (Cedie) Abbott, Sr..
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Trudy’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
