Carla Jewell Foxx, 69, Marion, went to be with the Lord in her home at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018. She was born in Marion on February 26, 1949, to the late Jewell and Hazel Moore.
Carla spent her childhood in Fairmount and later moved to Marion, where she graduated from Marion High School. She married Larry Foxx on September 2, 1988, and he survives.
Prior to working in a local factory, Carla was a waitress and bartender at Don’s Tap. She enjoyed playing Bingo, camping, and fishing, and she loved to garden, especially flowers. She had attended Brookhaven Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Larry; children, Donald Gerber, Bertha First, Tracy Lowe, and Hope Gerber; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; several friends, especially Barbara Charles; her dog, Gizmo; and her cat, Cali.
Also preceding her in death were her brothers, David and Robert.
A graveside service will be held for Carla at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN.
