MARION, Ind. – A 2 or 3-year male child was found wandering in the area of 2nd and Delphi Street. The child was not injured and was transported to the department. Officers went door to door in the area attempting to locate the child’s parents. Officers checked multiple houses in the 1300 block of W. 1st St. as well as several houses in the 100 block of S. G Street. Officers reported that no one recognized the picture of the child. Child Protective Services were notified and the child was released into their care.
At approximately 3:00 am, the child’s mother’s arrived at the police department to claim her child. It was reported by the mother that the child was in the care of the step-father. This investigation is active.
