Timmy Alan McAfee

Timmy Alan McAfee, 65, Marion, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, resulting from injuries he suffered in a car accident. He was born in Muncie on Saturday, July 2, 1955, to James and Patricia (Hankins) McAfee.

Timmy graduated from Marion High School in 1974 and continued his education as a Tool & Die Maker. He was employed at Fisher Body as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker after 30+ years of service, retiring in 2009. He worked religiously in the plant for his kids to have a better life. He was a member of the Local UAW # 977.

Timmy was a true craftsman, stone mason, and had great masonry skills. He had a great zest for music and particularly liked the Rolling Stones. Restoring stringed instruments was one of his favorite hobbies. He enjoyed hunting (especially mushrooms) and fishing. He also loved sports and followed all of the IU teams. Timmy will be remembered as an extremely hard worker and a giving man, who would always help others first. He was a man of high integrity and character, generous, and had a lot of beloved friends. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his two sons, Joshua McAfee and Micah McAfee; mother, Patricia Joan McAfee; three grandchildren, Harper McAfee, Lillian McAfee, and Amelia McAfee; mother of his children, Nancy McAfee-Huffman; five siblings, Danny (Ruth Ann) McAfee, Terry McAfee, Lori (Mike) Oakley, Betsy (Joey) Perkins, and James (Sherry) McAfee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Douglas McAfee, and his sister, Susan Taylor.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Timmy’s life will begin at 12:00 noon. Pastor Gary Dalton will be officiating.
