Theodore D. “Ted” Huston, 93, passed Sunday, March 27, 2022, at his home on Irish Lake. He was born in Fairmount on November 2, 1928, to the late Glen A. and Elva (Faulkner) Huston. Ted attended Fairmount High School.
He married Esther E. Simons on June 30, 1950. She preceded him in death on August 1, 1988.
Ted was a skilled carpenter with sixty years of experience. He built many homes throughout Grant County. His greatest achievements were being a great husband, father and grandfather. Ted was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing cards, coin collecting, watching the Cubs, and later in life, working jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include his sons, Tom (Jackie) Huston, Roger Huston, Jerry (Debbie) Huston; daughter, Kathy (Jeff) Maynard; grandchildren, Elisha Huston-Trexler, Todd Maynard, Christian (Morgan) Huston, Audrey (Rick) Fireline, Casie (Darrell) Mellars, Craig (Sarah) Huston; great-grandchildren, Gabi Huston, Seger Huston, Esther Fireline, Journey Huston; brother, Dave (Dee) Huston; and sister-in-law, Joann Simons.
In addition to his parents and loving wife, Ted was also preceded in death by his grandson, Tedd Maynard; brothers, Richard Huston, James Huston, Bill Huston; sisters, Evelyn Barker, Donna Harris, Bonita Marsh, Delores Moorman, and Wilma Rood; as well as a special friend, Mary Drake.
According to his wishes, there will be no services. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
