Terry Lee Chambers

Terry Lee Chambers, 73, Marion, passed away at 5:16 a.m. on November 28, 2018, at Marion General Hospital.  A lifelong resident of Grant County, Terry was born in Jonesboro on May 1, 1945, to Regginald L. and Mary Pearl (Dalton) Chambers.

Terry was a veteran of the Marine Corps and, thus, became a very passionate advocate for veterans.  He was employed with the Grant County Probation Department prior to working at Irving Brothers as a Ready Mix truck driver, and eventually a track photographer at Hoosier Park.

Terry was a professional archer and photographer, as well as owner/publisher of Mid-America Standard Bred and Harness News.  He also owned Harness Racing Horses, about which he was very passionate.  He was a very big advocate in later years to legalize medical marijuana in Indiana—“Hoosier Veterans for Medical Cannibis”, a nonprofit 501C.

He will be missed by his daughter, Stacy S. Collins, Chicago, IL, and his sisters, Barbara Pritchett, CA, Reggie Hahn, WA, and Zina Chambers, WA; brother, Charles Chambers, Mooresville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Regginald and Mary Chambers, and siblings, Joe Chambers, Betty Thomas, Leon Bedwell, Joan McFerran, Jack Leroy Bedwell, Mildred Alice Chambers, Billy Bedwell.

In accordance with Terry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Disabled American Veterans, Bldg. 14, Rm. 135, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN 46953.
