Teddy D. Coffey, 74, Marion, passed away at 4:42 am on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in his home. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, May 31, 1948, to George C. and Lillian J. (McCoy) Coffey.  On December 4, 2004, he married Barbara “Barbi” Mooneyhan, and she survives.  

Teddy attended Maynardville Schools and worked at Wayne Auto Sales for 40 years. He was a member of The Tabernacle, and he had a special place in his heart for the Special Olympics, for which he volunteered many years.  He had also driven race cars and spent 48 years of his life painting cars.  

Teddy enjoyed camping, fishing, watching Gunsmoke reruns, and sitting on the porch drinking his coffee watching the birds and animals. He loved his Lord, his family, and his fur babies–Delyla and Little Bit.  He always looked forward to birthdays, holidays, or any occasion when they could be together to celebrate life and have cook-outs. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he supported them by attending their sporting events whenever he could.

In addition to his wife, Barbi, Teddy is survived by his sons: Dennis Coffey of Marion and Jonathan Brinker of Marion; daughters: Pamela “D” Staggs of Marion and Christine Tabor of Marion; ex-wife and lifelong friend: Sara Coffey of Marion; grandchildren: Cierra (Travis) Rutherford of Marion, Twyla (Larsjon Mitchell) Coffey of Savannah, GA, Clayton (Julie) Coffey of Hartford City, Chelsea (Coye) Staggs of Converse, Cheyenne (Wesley) Tabor of Marion, and Corbin Coffey of Marion; great-grandsons: Isaac and Blake Pack, Tre Callis, Keagon Coffey, Dom Scott, Caden Coffey, Kaysen Weaver, Landen Pack, LaShaun Mitchell, and Wesley Moriarty, Jr.; great-granddaughters: Caila Callis, Sophia and Gabriella Manzo, Lariah Mitchell, Savannah Rutherford, and Adora and Amya Moriarty; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Rozetta (Donald) Dale; and brother: Dennis Coffey.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Teddy’s life will begin at 6:00 pm with Pastor Todd Thomas officiating.
