Susanna “Susie” Small, 62, passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. A lifelong resident of Marion, Susie was born on September 3, 1955, to Jose and Elena (Rodriguez) Rangel.
Susie attended Marion High School and married Darrell Small on May 30, 1975. She was a member of Auxiliary Post 5 Amvets and enjoyed listening to the bands while there. Susie also enjoyed watching TV shows, doing pull tabs, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She attended St. Paul Catholic Church and Immanuel First Baptist Church in Marion.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Small, Sr., Marion; mother, Elena Rangel; daughters, Esmeralda (Brock) Hall, Gas City, and Josie (Allen) Dudley, Marion; son, Darrell Small, Jr., Marion; grandchildren, Gene Graves, Elizabeth Hall, Brittani Shipley, Nigel Small, Dylon Dudley, Elija Dudley, Darrell Small, III, and Skylar Small; 3 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Her father, Jose Rangel, preceded her in death.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Susie’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Pastor Raymond Kughen will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
