Susan Kay Landis Linville

Susan Kay Landis Linville, 63, Buffalo Grove, IL, formerly of Marion, died on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL.  Susan’s parents were Albert R. and Jean W. (Witmer) Landis.  She married her loving husband, John Linville, on April 10, 1982.

After graduating from Marion High School, Susan graduated from Purdue University in Lafayette with a degree in chemical engineering.  She continued her education at the University of Chicago, graduating with a master’s degree in business.

Susan had worked as a chemical engineer at Signode Corporation in Glenview, IL, as well as at Amoco in Naperville, IL.  She was a member of the Society of Women Engineers for several years.  She was an avid reader and always enjoyed having a book in her hands.  She liked knitting and cross-stitching. Susan was a very bright woman, and she especially cherished her academic successes.  She had passed all four parts of the CPA exam in her first try.  Susan was a member and volunteer at Kingswood UMC in Buffalo Grove, IL.  She will be remembered as a brilliant, caring, and deeply committed woman who will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

Survivors include her mother, Jean W. Landis, Marion; her loving husband, John A. Linville, Buffalo Grove, IL; brother, Mark (Sheryl) Landis, GA; extended family, Michelle Helvaty and Toni Boyd Landis; cousin, Diana Trisler; several nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; and her two cats, Aja and Deacon Blues.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, Susan’s funeral service will begin at 1 p.m..  Burial will take place at a later date at Estates of Serenity.
