Steve Duane Jackson, 70, North Manchester, passed away on October 24, 2023, at his home. The youngest of six sons, Steve was born on November 26, 1952, in Warsaw to Henry and Eva (Hackworth) Jackson.
Steve attended Manchester High School, and a year later he married the love of his life, Linda Bradford on January 22, 1971. Through their fifty-two years of marriage, Steve was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He did whatever he could for anyone in need and loved to see people laugh, especially if that laughter was a result of his orneriness. Steve loved his wife and children dearly, and his grandchildren held a very special place in his heart.
Always a go-getter, Steve worked in the physically demanding construction industry for Miller & Sons Construction and Phend & Brown. Steve very much wanted to provide the best life possible for his family. Later in life, Steve traveled throughout the United States with Linda delivering recreational vehicles for two years before retiring in 2014 to spend more time with family and friends. He often attended church at Water of Life Church in Silver Lake.
The loving memory of Steve Jackson will be forever cherished by his wife, Linda Jackson, North Manchester; son, Mark (Kelly) Jackson, Valrico, Florida; daughter, Stephanie (Brian) Enyeart, North Manchester; brother, Ron Jackson, North Manchester; grandchildren, Austin (Madelyn) Jackson, Brooke (Danny Francis) Jackson, Brilee Enyeart, Bryson Enyeart, and Braxton Enyeart; three great-grandchildren; one great-grandson due in March; and his dog, Lexi. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dallas, Doug, Dennie, and Richard Jackson.
Family and friends may call Thursday, October 26, 2023. from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Minister Jerry Creekmore officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 997 West State Road 114, North Manchester.
