Stephen M. “Gunner” Roesly, II

Stephen M. “Gunner” Roesly, II, 57, Marion, passed away at 2:38 am on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Marion Health. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, August 5, 1966, to Stephen M. Roesly and Cathy (Wilson) Riley.  He was married to Melissa Garrett Flint.  

Gunner graduated from Marion High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. He was a restaurant entrepreneur for many years. Gunner was an Indianapolis Colts season ticket holder. He will be remembered as a devoted father, who always gave the best hugs.  When he embraced you, you couldn’t let go until he was ready to let you go!  Gunner loved sports and enjoyed watching all of his kids play. He always traveled to watch them play.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Flint of Marion; children, Stephen M. Roesly, III, of Clover, SC, Jenna E. Roesly of Clover, SC, Harrison C. Roesly of Marion, and Liv T. Roesly of Marion; mothers of his children, Jennifer Roesly of Clover, SC, and Lindsay Roesly of Marion; mother and step-father, Cathy (Gene “Beaver”) Riley; brother-in-law, Donovan Garrett; step-mother, Connie J. (Greg) Shanks of Norton, VA; step-sister, Michelle Bowman; best friends, Mark and Buzz; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen M. Roesly, and his grandmother, Phyllis “P.I.T.A.” Brown.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Gunner’s life will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
