Sharon L. Easterday

Sharon L. Easterday, 85, Wabash, and formerly of Ijamsville, Indiana, reunited with her husband Thurman in Heaven on December 30, 2023. The daughter of the late Mary L. (Sickafus) Adams, Sharon was born August 5, 1938, in North Manchester.
Her mother passed away when Sharon was just fifteen, which left her devastated and shaped the way Sharon eventually raised her own family. She married Thurman E. Easterday on September 27, 1958. Together the couple created a loving family with the addition of their children, John, Mike, Sally, and Tim. Thurman worked hard to provide financially while Sharon worked just as hard as a homemaker, raising their children and ensuring they had everything necessary to thrive. She was a friend to everyone and became a mother figure to many over the years.
A devout Christian woman, Sharon possessed a servant’s heart. She was always there to help in times of need and would give her last penny to make sure someone else could get by. After Thurman died, Sharon loved hosting others, often inviting them to stay as long as possible, which was a way to fill the void. She was a member of Ijamsville United Methodist Church in Ijamsville, Indiana, for many years.
The loving memory of Sharon L. Easterday will be forever cherished by her children, John (Betty Jo) Easterday, Melrose, Wisconsin, Mike (Kristie) Easterday, Wabash, Sally (Terry) Bitzel, Wabash, and Tim Easterday, Wabash; grandchildren, David (Lindsey) Perry, Erika (Mitch) Dazey, Chase (Rachel Holmes) Moore, Tanner (Mallory) Easterday, and Ivory Easterday; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Perry. Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Mary L. Adams; husband, Thurman Easterday, who passed on November 5, 2017 after nearly fifty-nine years of marriage; brothers, Donald Burl Heeter and Stanton J. Heeter; and sister, Shirley Swinger.
Family and friends may call Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with calling beginning one hour prior at the funeral home. Pastor Kent Harting will officiate, and burial will be at Laketon Cemetery in Laketon, Indiana.
