Sarah Catherine Thompson, 94, Marion, passed away at 6:35 pm on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. She was born in Van Buren, Indiana, on Saturday, July 14, 1928, to Isaac and Iva (Heckard) Glover. She was married to William A. Thompson, who preceded her in death.
Sarah was a packer for 33 years with Ball Foster, retiring in 1983. She was a lifelong member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church. Sarah enjoyed going to the Senior Center several days a week. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and would complain when she did not get to see them. She will be missed dearly by her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Brummett of Marion; granddaughter, Melissa (Ron) Callahan of Marion; grandsons, Steven McPheron of Marion and Ronnie (Amanda) Brummett of Marion; several beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews; and special friend, Whitefeather.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and four sisters.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Sarah’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Charles Sluss officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
