Ruth B. Love

Ruth B. Love, 97, Marion, passed away at 8:19 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at University Nursing Center in Upland. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, January 15, 1925, to Harry and Vivian (Parrish) King.

In an effort to help with the war, Ruth worked at Owens-Illinois, where they made glass medicine bottles to send overseas. This is where she also met her husband, Wayne. After they married, she stayed home so she could raise her family. When the kids were older, she worked at the VA Hospital in food service for 27 years. Ruth was committed to her faith and her family. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them, whether it was fixing a meal for them or making clothes from scratch. She was a pattern-maker and actually created the pattern for the clothes she made. Ruth was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Michael (Connie) Love of Van Buren; daughter-in-law, Shirley Love; grandsons, James Porter and Thomas (Kylee) Love; granddaughters, Amie Love, Lisa Love, Laura (Ryan) Richards, Carmon Egner, Camie Love, Rebecca (Tim) Thompson, Mary (Herb) Denney, and Carla (Clint) Capper-Reynolds; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Love; son, Daniel Love; daughter, Kathryn J. (Paul) Porter; brother, Russell (Roberta) King; parents, Harry (Vivian) King; granddaughter, Tammy Miller; and great-grandson, Michael Miller.
