Ruth Alice Cox, 85, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 10:40 am, Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in LaFontaine. She was born on January 26, 1938, in Silver Lake, Indiana, to Floyd Leroy and Edith Pearl (Karns) Drudge.
Ruth was a 1956 graduate of Silver Lake High School. She retired from H.K. Porter/Friction Material in Huntington, Indiana on October 28, 1999 after 26 years, and also worked 10 years at Wagners in Wabash. Ruth loved her dogs and horses. She spent many years at the Old Wabash Saddle Club riding the hills with her family, Martha Johnson, and Martha’s son Jeff Summers.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Cox of Warren, Indiana, and Jamie “J.C.” Cox of Wabash; five grandchildren, Wayne Pence, Chasity (Adrian) Gunsolus, Amy Aikman, Richard Cox, and Michael Paul Cox; several great grandchildren, and lifelong friend Barbara “Bobbie” Ray of Wabash. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Ricky Joe Cox, three brothers, and five sisters.
There will be a graveside service at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, at a later date. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
