Roland Richard Good

Roland Richard Good, 79, North Manchester, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. Born in Wabash County on March 27, 1944, Richard was the son of the late Carl Clyde and Minnie (Brown) Good Sr.

Growing up in the Laketon area, Richard attended Laketon High School with the class of 1962. He married Vivian Adkins on January 29, 1965, and the two shared many good times together for nearly fifty-nine years. They were blessed with three children, Tori, Ryan, and Tami. As a father and husband, Richard put everyone else first, ensuring his family always got what they needed. He built lifelong relationships while working at Frantz Lumber in North Manchester for over fifty years, beginning in the lumber yard and later moving into the office in an accounts payable role. Richard became friends with everyone who walked through the door and delighted in helping all customers.

Richard will forever be remembered for the way he treated people, the kindness he showed, and his sense of humor which had a healthy dose of orneriness mixed into it. He wore a smile that lit up a room like a ray of sunshine. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially loved mushroom hunting in Michigan with his family and friends, feeding the squirrels, and tending to his flowers. Richard and Vivian attended Congregational Christian Church together in North Manchester for many years.
