Roger Lee Haupert, 73, of rural Leesburg, Indiana, died at 4:08 pm, Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was born March 28, 1945 in Kosciusko County, Indiana to Luther J. and Irene (Leckrone) Haupert.
Roger was a 1964 graduate of Sidney High School, Sidney, Indiana. He was a US Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, where he received a purple heart. He retired from RR Donnelley in Warsaw. Roger loved the 1957 Chevy and restored his own ’57 Chevy. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and living on the lake. He spent the winter months in LaBelle, Florida.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Louise (Bob) Eltzroth of Fort Myers, Florida; two nieces, Ronda (Skip) Armstrong of Alva, Florida, and Brenda (Todd Anderson) Wright of Fort Myers; great nephews and great niece, Derek (Erica) Armstrong and Dustin (Danielle) Armstrong, both of Lehigh, Florida, and Kayla Armstrong of Alva, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Jewell.
A celebration of life will be private at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester, with Bob Eltzroth officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.
Preferred memorial is Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
