Roderick Jefferson “Rod” Winters, 67, formerly of Roann, Indiana, died at 7:10 pm, Monday, December 2, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor West in Wabash, where he had lived since August 2018. He was born November 23, 1952 at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina to John and Joanne (Wilson) Winters.
Rod was a 1971 graduate of Northfield High School. He was a carpenter and also worked at Krogers in Wabash a few years. Rod was a member of the Roann United Methodist Church. He had a huge music collection reflecting his love of music and enjoyed playing the piano. He also enjoyed woodworking and outdoor sports, including hunting and fishing.
He is survived by sisters and brothers, Sandra E. Key of Roann, Nicholas R. (Lorinda) Winters of Orondo, Washington, Daniel F. Winters of Peru, Linda S. (Randall) Good of Wabash, Deborah K. (Perry) VanMeter of LaFontaine, Marcia L. (Paul) Roberts of Kokomo, and Robert J.T. “Bud” (Sally) Winters of Lagro, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Roann United Methodist Church, with Pastor Wayne Balmer officiating. Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery. Friends may call 9:30 – 11:00 am Saturday, at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Roann.
