Robert Eugene Schroeder

Robert “Bob” Eugene Schroeder, 88, Gas City, went to be with the Lord at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Marion Health and Rehab Center.  He was born on August 8, 1929, in Marion to the late Harry J. and Blanche (Finley) Schroeder.  On December 12, 1947, Bob married Belva “BJ” McKeever, and she survives.

Bob retired from Noll Printing, where he was a printer.  He also served as a deputy sheriff, as well as in the Zoning Office with the city of Gas City for 24 years.  He was a great artist, and he loved to paint and build a variety of models.  Bob also loved flying and had received his pilot’s license.  Working in his yard was another of his favorite hobbies.

He will be missed by his loving wife of 70 years, BJ; children, Diana (Paul) Shane, Gas City, Jeff (Brenda) Schroeder, Vinita, Oklahoma, Mark (Roberta) Schroeder, Marion, Susan (Steve) Barker, Gas City, Noel (Beth) Schroeder, Gas City, Carol Teegarden, Fishers, and Marianne (John) Case, Marion; grandchildren, Cristopher Schroeder and Brian Schroeder, both from Clearwater, Kansas, Kristin Tomlinson, Franklin, Erin Richards and Joanna Schnepp, both from Gas City, Nathaniel, Marion, Benjamin, Charleston, South Carolina, Jamie, Marion, Ashley Harper, Marion, Paul Harper, Marion, Becky Runyan, McCordsville, Leslie Grubb, Marion, Kacey Quaderer, Marion, Courtney Schroeder, Gas City, and Alexis Case, Marion; 40 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; grandson-in-law, Dale Reber, Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Teegarden; brothers, Harry James Jr. and Howard E.; sisters, Marceile Tippey and Bettie Vaughn; granddaughter, Kimberly Reber; and great-grandson, Nicholas Reber.

The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Services to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 325 E. N. A St., Gas City, IN.  Father Richard Weisenberger will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory.
