Robert E. Keith, Jr., 71, Marion, passed away in his home at 6:02 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2022. He was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan, on Monday, March 12, 1951, to Robert E. and Jearlene (Love) Keith, Sr. On March 20, 1971, he married Deborah Moran, and she survives.
Robert graduated from Southwood High School in 1969, where he participated in basketball, football, and track. Over the years, he was employed at Active Products, Owens Glass Plant for 11 years, and Grant County Highway Department for nearly 30 years, before retiring in 2013. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1178 (Gas City). He enjoyed coaching, teaching, and encouraging his children along with others, as well as fishing and being outdoors from dusk to dawn. Most important to him was spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, survivors include his daughter, Charlene (Dawnar) Shivers of Brazil, IN; son, Robert E. (Melissa) Keith, III, of Valley View, OH; grandsons, Christian and Sebastian; granddaughters, Katelyn (Chase), Sarah, and Gabriella; brother, Alex (Kyna) Keith of Marion; brother-in-law, David Graves; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rebecca Harrell and Charlotte Graves; brother, John Keith; and nephew, Adam Keith.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Robert’s life will begin at 3:00 pm with Pastor Bill Sparks officiating.
